The Short Answer

What Are Implant Dentures?

Implant-supported dentures are full sets of teeth held in place by dental implants in your jawbone instead of suction and adhesive. Because the implants anchor the denture, it doesn't shift when you chew, and the implants help slow the bone loss that makes regular dentures loosen over time.

Patients usually switch to implant dentures because of:

  • Dentures that slip or click
  • Sore spots from rubbing
  • Trouble eating firm foods
  • Daily adhesive mess
  • A denture that keeps getting looser
  • Failing teeth that need replacing

What are implant-supported dentures?

They're dentures that attach to dental implants placed in your jawbone instead of resting on your gums. The implants hold the denture firmly so it doesn't slip or need adhesive.

What's the difference between snap-in and fixed implant dentures?

Snap-in dentures clip onto a few implants and come out for cleaning. Fixed full-arch teeth, like All-on-4, are attached to four or more implants and only your dentist can remove them.

How much do implant dentures cost in Temecula?

It depends on how many implants you need, whether you choose a snap-in or fixed design, and whether you need extractions or bone work first. After your consultation and 3D scan, we give you an itemized quote and your financing options.

Can my current denture be converted to an implant denture?

Sometimes. If your current denture fits well and is in good shape, it may be possible to adapt it to snap onto implants. We'll check at your consultation.

Are implant dentures permanent?

The implants are permanent. Snap-in dentures come out for cleaning; fixed All-on-4 teeth stay in and are cleaned in place, with professional cleanings at your checkups.

Can I eat normally with implant dentures?

Most patients can eat a much wider range of foods than with a regular denture, because the implants keep the teeth from moving when you bite and chew.

How long does the process take?

It depends on the design. With All-on-4, most patients leave the day of surgery with temporary fixed teeth. Snap-in dentures usually attach after the implants have healed for a few months.

Am I a candidate if I've worn dentures for years?

Often, yes. Long-time denture wearers may have lost some jawbone, which your 3D scan will show. Approaches like All-on-4 angle the implants to use the bone you have.

Does insurance cover implant dentures?

Some plans pay toward part of the denture or implants, but many don't cover implants fully. We check your benefits and show you your out-of-pocket cost before you commit.
